Text entered in a search box, such as a name or phone number, goes to the outside provider that returns sponsored results. We do not retain a separate copy of those queries on our servers. A message sent to us contains only the details you choose to provide, and we use that message to answer you.
Information Collected Automatically
Standard hosting logs can record an IP address, browser type, requested page, and time of access. Aggregate log data helps diagnose failures and show which resources are useful. Cookies or similar tools may support basic traffic analysis and advertising measurement where those services are enabled.
How the Data Is Used
Limited usage data keeps the site running, helps resolve technical problems, measures traffic, and guides page updates. We neither sell a visitor list nor assemble profiles of individual readers.
Privacy on Linked Services
Government portals, Los Angeles County offices, California agencies, library collections, and outside search providers publish their own privacy terms. Information submitted after following a link is controlled by that destination's policy. The same is true when a sponsored search tool processes a query.
Parties That Process Data
Hosting and support vendors process server logs for site operations. Analytics or advertising services may receive the automatic information described above. Data may also be disclosed when valid legal process requires it; otherwise, visitor information is not shared.
Safeguards and Retention
An encrypted connection protects traffic in transit. Server logs are kept only as long as needed for operations and the purposes stated here. Since the site has no user accounts, it stores no account password or member profile.
People Under Age 18
This service is meant for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly gather personal information from anyone under 18. Contact us if a minor submitted such information so it can be removed.
California Privacy Choices
California residents may have access, correction, or deletion rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act. The Delete Act, SB 362, also created California's DROP platform for deletion requests to registered data brokers. For information we control, use the Contact page; we can check contact messages and server logs. Records held by Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, or California agencies remain under the relevant custodian's rules and cannot be removed by us.
